The Story Behind Via Giulian

In 2014, my husband and I took a 4 year delayed honeymoon to Italy. With cobblestones underfoot and opera singing serenading the streets I came upon a charming street around the corner from my apartment called Via Giulia. A short walk from where I stood was an apartment that formerly belonged to Raphael (the one and only!). There was a quietness to the street aside from the opera singers practicing and as I walked I was enveloped into a world of magic. In this moment God spoke to my heart that what I had been searching for was already slowly and quietly in the works. A few years later , I found out I was pregnant and after debating names for months, it came to me. I would name my little Boy Giulian, after my favorite street in Rome with an added “N”. Italy is a root of inspiration for me as it is my favorite place in the world but springtime also has special meaning to us as the day I went into labor it was a freezing Chicago spring with not a flower in sight. The day we brought him home, the blossoms began to bloom giving him the nickname of the “Spring Bee”. This Content is foremost dedicated to him as he inspires me everyday. I look forward to having you tag along in the journey!
