Kids Roundups- Back to School

Giulian is homeschooled for the time being so we often don’t have the need to go to town for back to school every year but I could not help myself with this one! Who remembers the nostalgia of going to Mervyn’s (I am dating myself of course- who remembers this place?) or JC Penney as kid and picking out the latest Guess Jeans? I still remember those trips and lets not forget the most important back to school accessory of the 90’s- the trapper keeper!!! It was fun to dive into these round ups and I wanted to focus on non traditional stuff as I am a fairly non traditional person. Don’t Get me wrong I like color but I am just not into the crazy allover prints , bright colors and characters on everything- for those that know me , you know. No judgement here as sometimes you just got to get get something quick and cheap and I am fully aware kids can trash stuff, at the end of the day I am a mom too so I get it. But for me, I am a huge fan of non traditional backpack styles like these cute old school knapsack styles with handles and I love me some good bento boxes with cute water bottles. Personally my favorite back pack here might be the little rabbit one on the bottom middle for girls and the Rylee and Cru checkered backpack for boys or girls.

I know you probably have an entire cupboard in your house dedicated to water bottles and food storage just like I do…haha. So I put together my personal favorites to help you add to that collection…wink. We have loved or Bentgo boxes (mint) as it seals well and this particular one comes with the additional matching food container- a bonus in my book. We have also used the stainless steel planet boxes in the past and really liked them but they are best used with non “runny” foods so be aware of leakage if you put anything watery in them. Another winner for girls is Pottery Barn Kids glitter bento box- I want this for myself! They also sell a glitter utensil set separately. I used for work for the PBK brand and this was my favorite food storage box for I might be slightly biased.

Do you need some quick one stop shop duds for your kiddos days before school starts? I have you covered! I rounded up my favorite Amazon finds for clothing for girls and boys up to age 6 . I was pleasantly surprised to find some really cute things and love the fact that the boys plaid shirt matches the girls cute skirt. I think these would make a great start for building a Summer to Fall transition capsule collection making it easy to mix and match styles. We all dread the moment you are rushing out the door. to see the interesting mish mash of outfits out kids put together. I have been doing capsule collections for a while and really love being able to pull pieces from summer into fall and then pieces from fall into winter so you are not having to re-buy all new pieces within a month or 2. I had a lot of fun creating these and as a former children’s apparel stylist I would 100% buy each one of these and currently plan on purchasing the boys cable knit sweater, smoky bear t-shirt, rust check shirt and flannel to start Giulian off for fall.
